Intraoperative Neuromonitoring
(626) 598-3770
Dr. Kevin Scott is a fellowship-trained neurophysiologist with more than two decades of experience in intraoperative neuromonitoring. He has spent much of his career interpreting and overseeing monitoring for complex spine and cranial procedures where real-time neurophysiologic feedback determines outcomes and success for surgeons.
From 2013 to 2020 he served as a Clinical Neurophysiologist with IntraNerve, Inc., supervising and interpreting intraoperative cases across a high-volume surgical caseload. That work built on a foundation in academic neurophysiology: he completed his neurology residency and neurophysiology fellowship at Penn State University College of Medicine's Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and remained on faculty through 2011 as Associate Professor of Neurology, directing the neurophysiology and neuromuscular medicine fellowship. He most recently served as Medical Director and Practice Leader for Neurology at UCHealth Memorial Hospital System in Colorado Springs.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN) and a Fellow of the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (FAANEM), and is board certified in Neurology, Neuromuscular Medicine, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
Dr. Scott interprets the full standard complement of modalities used in spine and craniotomy cases: somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP), transcranial motor evoked potentials (TcMEP), spontaneous and triggered electromyography (EMG), pedicle screw stimulation, brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BAEP), electroencephalography (EEG), cranial nerve monitoring, and direct cortical stimulation with phase reversal for functional mapping.
Dr. Scott joins the West Coast Neurology IOM team to provide interpretation and oversight support on advanced modality cases. His role brings an additional set of eyes to the procedures that demand the widest modality set and the fastest intraoperative judgment — cases where an experienced interpreter can confirm a signal change, rule out a technical artifact, or flag a developing trend before it becomes a deficit. We're honored to welcome Dr. Scott, and pleased to bring his experience to the surgical teams we support.
